We are thinking of saving up for a new roof on the house in the next couple of years or so. Thing is, we have a conservatory almost spanning the rear of the house (some 5m wide) and extending out 3m from the house wall. How big a problem would that be for the scaffolding and re-roofing?

I think we had to have an 8m bridging section over a connie on one of our extension projects.

However, this section could not and was not loaded out with large amounts of materials.

So, the upshot is it is doable but only as a working platform and not a loading area.

It cost a few bob too.

P.s. we also made sure that the impact area was well covered with 18mm ply sheets. Not easy to do either.

ah, the perennial problem of conservatories.

Yup, as Noseall says a bridging section will be used or a cantilevered scaffold (which is probably expensive I'd think).
