There is no bang, just bought a light fitting.

Bracket has a terminal block on (as in picture)

I have wired up on one side of the block

black = neutral
red = live
green = earth

On the other side there is a neutral and live empty and the other has a green/yellow wire in it and is attached to the brass ceiling plate.
On the actual light fitting there are 4 wires, blue brown and yellow green, there is also another green and yellow which is attached to the body of the lamp as pictured.
Am I right in saying that

Blue(neutral) into black
Brown(live) into red
what about the green/yellow wire x 2, there is no space in the terminal block left.

What do the instructions say? And all the earths should be connected together. You can get another few wires into that earth terminal, its not full ;)

your fan has 3 wires (not counting earth) i would guess common neutral, fan, light.

but as suggested read the instructions

I put all 3 earths into 1 block as suggested.

I just turned it on and thelight comes on and the fan starts spinning.

So this must be wired up right :?:

If it wasn't wired up it wouldn't work would it?

one thing to check, is the fan going the right way? they often have a little switch on the fan to change direction, but read instuctions

Do these ceiling fans wobble, the fixture is tight to the ceiling, it's going so fast it's wobbling (the body part).
We have one of thses ceiling fans upstairs, its a few years old but im sure it doesn't wobble.

its normal for them to wobble. make sure its fastened to the ceiling nice and tight, so its not going to wobble off the ceiling. But common sense should prevail here and tell you to keep it on a lower speed so it doesn't wobble excessively.

I'd always be tempted when mounting one of these above MY bed, to thread a piece of rope or steel wire up through a hole in a joist, and fasten it to the fan body somehow. But thats just me being paranoid.

next time you go to a macdonalds have a look at theirs they all wobble

sometimes if the blades are a bit bent then the fan can be a bit off balance, causing it to wobble. These type of fans do wobble any way and it is nothing to worry about (providing the screws are tight etc.)

Balance the fitting - measure each blade from the same part of ceiling, and make sure all blades measure the same distance. Tweak the blades as appropriate.

The core does look yellow in the pic, but assume it is green/yellow. I think this is why Breezer suggested you may have a neutral and two lives.

Yeah! I'm always in there looking at them wobbling. Oh, and the fans vibrate, too....
