I have replaced two old lights in my kitchen with two new fittings. The new fittings have 3 halogen spotlights each. The bulbs keep going and i don't know why - Could the circuit be overloaded?
overloading would not cause the lamps to go. if you have installed low voltage lights, then you should check the transformer output ie 12 volts.
If this is correct or if the lamps are 240volt then check your incomming supply voltage, it should be 200/240v depending on your location. if its higher then contact your local supply authority. also some lamps are just poor quality and you should buy a well known make. check all of your connections are tight, loose connections cause overheating.
And also make sure dont touch them with your bare fingers ,use some cloth or paper but the grease of the hands will make them hotter and fail ,hope it helps from california
