New pc,fed up with this piece of crap

I have got a laptop and have had it for about 18 months and it is the biggest load of crap I have come across....its been away for repairs 5 times and now heading for the sixth,,,,,I may not be allowed to say the name but it starts with a tosh and ends in a A....it is a model called TE@@A.....whatever you buy.............DO NOT BUY ANY OF THIS CRAP......the last time it went away I was so fed up with the situation and raised a customer complaint and was told "we will call you back" but as Diana ross said "im still waiting"......anyhow I am going to invest in a new one and would like any recommendations .......... this load of crap in getting submerged

I'm typing this on a 4 year old Sony VAIO, no probs and still works well even though I had to replace the failing hard drive last week. My gf has an Acer which has been ok for the last 18 months, except the keyboard can miss letters if you type fast.

What probs have you had with the TOSHIBA TECRA!!!

Bought an ACER5102 off ebay about 3 months ago used every day,£280 brand new, no problems.
15.4" screen
120 gb hard drive
1gb ram

I'm typing this on a 4 year old Sony VAIO, no probs and still works well even though I had to replace the failing hard drive last week. My gf has an Acer which has been ok for the last 18 months, except the keyboard can miss letters if you type fast.

What probs have you had with the TOSHIBA TECRA!!!

We have used 3 Toshiba laptops (two from the satellite range) over a period from mid 90's until today.
The eldest m/c runs Windows 95 - slow but no real problems.

The next in age bought in mid '92 ... Used throughout Uni course for work and as music centre c-u-m dvd player ! ... Still going strong without problems.

The latest bought mid '06 used during another Uni year - work, music, dvd etc.

We are happy....

I'd agree that Tosh is ok.

There's always a Friday afternoon build to be found with anything you buy.

is the fault an inherent one with your tosh if so they should repair it for free or id want my money back or replacement machine . id push the retailer for replacement as the machine sounds dud from start or they are repairing it badly, is it 4 years guarantee for inherent faults?i think so they just have to prove its not an inherent fault which will be hard all probs you have had.

You are of course entitled to this opinion, however, it's not very helpful to anyone, as you haven't mentioned the nature of the fault.

You may have grounds to claim under The Sale Of Goods Act. Have you kept written records and made any attempt to take legal action?

I find with lots of my friends pc's "it's broken" "I need to upgrade, it's a load of rubbish" just ends up being spyware and viruses on account of them watching too much porn

1st fault, fan would start the stop after about 3mins,laptop would cut off anf had to wait for it to cool down+ repaired 2nd fault ,mouse would keep on switching to external mouse mode,repiared 3rd fault, battery was not getting charged up,they sent me out a new charger but the problem was with some power unit. 4th fault ,screen just went completely dark and just about visible,repaired now I have a problem with the mouse just freezaing and to correct this i have to power down and back up again,but when i power up again the start page comes up with windows xp and the bars just keep on going back and forth for about 8-10 mins before coming to life. Not sure if its a unlucky laptop or a unlucky user But I will never use another Toshiba
