Im having my walls bonded/skimmed, therefore I've had to hack off all the old blown plaster. However I was tapping one of the upstairs walls which sounded hollow and when I took some plaster off it looks like some of the bricks that were used have the 'recess' in the top where the plaster is applied. Is this right? I guess they did things different in the 30's! Also some of the walls have alot of hairline cracks. Will these be ok to be skimmed or should they be hacked off too?
Cheers.

You are throwing good money away if you are bonding an old 1930s brick house and asking for alot of trouble down the line.

It should be done in a breathable product such as lime, it was done in lime for a reason.

Problem is its 80 years old and mostly blown though. What choice do I have?
