New Roof question

Hi there,

An extension mono pitch roof coming in around 10deg pitch, does anyone know what my options are tile wise. Existing roof is concrete interlocking and im hoping to go the same, is this possible?

concrete interlocking will only cope with roof pitches as low as 15 degrees.

you will have to use felt bonded ply wood and counter battens, which is basically a felt roof dressed up with concrete tiles.

Cheers for that, This may be a silly question, as the tiles are not designed for that pitch, a certain degree of water will get in - wont the nail holes for the battens eventually lead to leaks?

good point. has been raised in the past.

water ingress should be minimal.

it's a cobbled up way of doing roofs if you ask me.

Like most flat roofs it would have a design life of about 10years so after that time you rip it off and rebuild.

As the felt is not exposed, then its life will be much, much longer than 10 years.

Even so, penetration past the tiles may be minimal.

Redland Regent will go down to 12 degrees IIRC.

What about using a breathable membrane with taped joints? It will do the same job
