i am installing a new shower in a downstairs room, behind this room is an existing sink with a 2 inch drainage pipe, can i put the shower waste direct into this existing drainage pipe along with the sink?

Yes, but its better that this pipe is not draining anything else as well which may give you slight problems.

as far as i can see the basin drains into the 2 inch pipe and then direct into soil, so it doesnt drain anything else, thanks for your advice.
