Hi

We've just had our old shower ripped out and a new one installed.

Wet Wall T&G pvc ceiling
Mdf wet wall panels with gloss coating
Iflo Duxford thermostatic bar mixer shower

Seemed to go ok but a few queries we wanted to check.

1. Arm for shower head is only 2cm from (wet wall T&G) ceiling. Square shower head 10cm from ceiling. Is this ok or are these too close?
2. The shower head arm is 14cm horizontally from led light. Shower head 16cm diagonally down from led light. Is this safe?
3. The shower door is 36cm in height from ceiling. It stands about 10cm taller than me/wife. Door is 25cm horizontally from nearest point of shower head. Option to lower shower head by 25-100mm from bar using matching chrome fitting to prevent splashing / rectify any issues from point 1 and 2 above
4. The internal trims had silicone applied to the boards when they were slotted into the trims. However, the visible part of where the trim/boards meet doesn’t have silicone. Should it?
5. Shower door has had silicone applied around the outside of it, but not the inside. Should there be silicone on the inside?
6. Thermostatic bar doesn’t have silicone around parts that fit onto wall. Should they?
7. Shower tray creaks slightly when stepping on it, not sure if this is normal and genuinely can’t remember if old one did.

Quite a few pics below.

1. Seems fine to me. What's your concern?

2. Depends on the light fitting's IP rating.

3. Where do you think the splashing will come from and how will lowering the shower head improve it? Splashing happens when water hits a surface, not when it's exiting a shower head

4. No

5. No

6. Yes

7. No, creaking indicates movement which will eventually lead to leaks

1. What is the distance of the bar shower up from the shower tray? Was the ceiling dropped? If it's a rigid riser from the bar to the overhead then that can't really be changed but there isn't really a 'too close'
2. As above, if it's a sealed cover over the bulb and holder then the IP rating should be correct for a shower
3. As above, there shouldn't really be a splashing issue if it's a standard height enclosure
4. as above
5. as above
6. If you can screw back the pipe/mount covers, then where the pipes come through the wall is where it should all be sealed but not around the covers themselves IMO.
7. The tray is on a riser kit, I don't use them specifically for that reason. They always tend to move somewhat.
