New shower water either scalding hot or freezing cold

My mate has just fitted a Triton Altair thermostatic mixer bar shower in my bathroom but when we tried to use it the water is either red hot or freezing, no amount of playing with the controls changes this. The water feeds have been taken off the bath feeds which are fine. Any ideas

Sounds like the hot and cold have been crossed over.

The hot is on the right as you look at it on the wall? Is this wrong?

Now you're asking! I suspect that different valves have different requirements but usually cold is on the right, I think.

yep useally hot left cold right.

check what your instructions say. then check your pipes

Thanks a lot for info, you are right the pipes are round the wrong way. Guess i should have fitted it myself!

READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS re. crossed supplies: some showers allow you to alter the valve without the need to alter the pipework.

if it is piped properly, u may want to look into getting a blending valve fitted
