Hi,

i'm currently going on a crazy DIY project to construct a dream of mine: A small house in my garden, to hold a show room Oceanarium...
It's a small 4 meter by 4 meter and i was thinking about doing the show room on the base floor and on the first floor a all mirrored lounge room.

I'm going to go on wood but i'm think about the thickness of the wood beam/log ( not english .. i don't know if is the right word) to be a safe structure.

Any ideas ?

I will post later on the house plans...

Antonio

In portugal it's quite difficult to find railway sleepers but currently in the place where i'm living there's the possibility of getting "fresh" logs from the Serra de monchique ( it's a algarve moutain ) or risking and going for the Wholesalers not so good quality pre defined logs. My problem is more the capabilite of the structure to hold on, but i wasn't planning doing it too thick just the enough.
