Had a new Bathroom installed into our downstairs bathroom recently.
Wares are the same as the equipment installed in the upstairs bathroom.

have noticed that sometimes u need two flushes as the watter rises a bit, yesterday it filled right up, had to plunge with toilet brush.

The only difference I can see is that the pipe exits to toilet upstairs horizontal where as the downstairs toilet has what looks to be an instant 90degree bend sending it vertical out, this bend also looks to be a reducer?

Would this reducer pipe cause a problem?

Hi Nige,

Think is its the exact same toilet as the one upstairs thats fine.
(Whats the difference between the two flushes on modern toilets, I always push both buttons for a no2.)

I have been eating all bran lately

If that 90degree bend with what looks like a reducer should cause no problems then I will monitor it for a bit.

Are you saying the water level rises up in the pan when you flush?

If so,it's nothing to do with the pan connector. You have a blockage.

as the tradesman i was apprenticed to used to say, 4 inch drain for a 6 inch a**ehole!!
