Current toilet has been having hiccups for years & I've been able to patch it up here & there. Now it's leaking from the flush handle hole as the cistern is filling up too high. I think it's time to replace.

I want to do it cheaply, as I want to replace/refit the whole bathroom in a year or so.

My usual trick is eBay, but am not sure what sort of toilet to look for given the current one. Ideally without causing too much extra work like boxing in & flooring etc. as I say it will be a semi-permanent fixture.

Then the main cost will be the labour fitting it. Ideas for cost for this sort of job?

Why don't you just fit a new side entry ball valve, or rewasher the old one?

Replace fill valve side/bottom entry and flush valve kit, personally I would go for a flapper valve
Screwfix. all in Kit £19.99.
Cheaper than a new WC.
