I have run 1mm cable (latest colours) from my supply to a 1g 2way 600watt dimmer (push on /off type) and then to three 100 watt wall lamps in turn. My dimmer has common, L1 & L2 terminals. I have used the common for the live and L1 for the neutral and ignored L2. Live from supply goes first to the common in the dimmer and then out to the first lamp. Similarly for the neutral in the L1 terminal. The circuit terminates at the third lamp. I don't understand how the dimmer interupts the live feed if the common terminal joins both the live feed in and live feed out to the first lamp. Help!!

Its doesn't the way you've wired it

Live in to com, live out to L1, ignore L2, and both neutrals in a choc block is how you should wire it

I wouldn't try the circuit until you have changed it, unless you have a use for a dimmer shaped paperweight...
