Can anyone recommend a company that fits pumps in kitchens below ground? Our kitchen is partly below floor level and for 10 years we have had a pump that doesn't work very well. It has always caused such a bad smell in the kitchen and needs cleaning out every couple of weeks. The smell only clears for a couple of days before starting again. It is awful and I have never been able to find a company able to provide a solution. Any tips? I'm keeping everything crossed there's someone out there who has gad a similar problem and found a solution! I can't live with the smell of rotting egg any more!

Does sounds as if the first installation wasn`t very good or done cheaply. The cover shouldn`t let any smells into the kitchen when fitted and sealed for one. Look around for lifting station engineers in your area.

Thanks for the help. It's a zoeller pump and been in about 10 years. Always caused smells in the kitchen but got much eirse. Think we'll need to replace but can't find a company that does it around us. Thanks again.

Zoeller pumps are or were based on the south coast, decent pumps and fitted in plastic boxes which are not really suitable for below ground level instalations in kitchens or bathrooms much like most Saniflo`s, Grundfos and DAB pumps which sit on the floor.
A below ground level lifting station is what you really need and I wonder if Building control ever signed your installation off.
