I have just had some expensive doors fitted (magent ones - four doors wide) on the outside of an extension.

They are non-treated as yet. We would like to stain them rather than paint them - ythey are already soaking up the water after last nights down poor.

Anyway, can some tell me the pest way to do this - I presume I do not need any form of primer as I'll be staining them. Can someone reccomend the best product to use.

PS I have a stain colour in mind already - dark oak.

cheers

The most important is a weather threshold bar to stop the rain soaking up the wood.

Any ideas on the stain etc as well?

Well, I always use Cuprinol

I have made a 3' length of gutter with 2 stop end, filled it with cuprinol and rest the bottom of the door overnight to soak it into wood and strain the door at the same time otherwise the bottom might look a little bit darker !
