Long time stalker, first time poster.

A little bit about myself..... I'm 20, working full time, living with my parents near Norwich, Norfolk and my partner's in her first year of nursing at UNI. I have £20,000 in savings.

I went to a recent country show and found this http://www.finnishloghomes.co.uk/residential-lodges/ They're brilliant! £66,000 fully furnished and built.

So my plan is to buy some land and get a mortgage on the lodge.

Are there any problems with that so far? If I give 3 links to different types of land could you point out whether this would be a possibility on any of them.

Plot 1 - 0.2 acres of farmland http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-31398256.html

Plot 2 - 2.4 acres of pasture land http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-38177933.html

Plot 3 - Small plot with planning permission http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-38330813.html

I'm aware that the last plot would be the most favourable for getting the lodge approved for planning but would it be feasible on either of the other two plots?

Thanks in advanced for any help!

You won't get planning on 1 or 2. The garden plot might be ok but make sure the unit can pass building regs before you commit to anything. As a starter the external walls don't look thick enough to accommodate insulation requirements. So you might want to find out how that works? Also, it's unlikely that price includes utility supplies, drainage and the ground floor prep and base? Best check that as well?

can also cost you several thousands to get services connected [even 20k plus]
few lenders will lend on kit homes and the rate may be way above normal

yeah good luck on the mortgage on one of those. lenders will look at the fact will it still be a building in 25 years.

i looked at a self build in the past but bridging loans were needed to finance the land and the building as they wouldnt lend money against the value of the land alone. The building would need to be completed and valued prior to getting a mortgage. etc.

So i bought a ready built house to make my life simpler
