We recently bought a house to do up, I thought you might like to see the excellent standard of wiring that had been performed in the kitchen.
Not the worst I have seen though!
Cable goes diagonally up/left from cooker point to choc-bloc covered in insulation tape, then diagonally up/right to the FCU which had the cut off wire dangling from it with bare ends.
From the cooker point two further cables run diagonally down/right to both the connection points, one of which had no cover. and bare terminals
Whole lot was live until I turned it off at the CU and took all the fuses out.
Electrician is coming tomorrow to rewire the kitchen, bathroom and change the CU.
