Anyone with a suggestion where I can get a plug for this?
Wasn't wanting to buy a complete new power supply if I can help it.

I don't think you can buy that connector by itself, it's not very 'generic'. Be aware also, there are two versions of that connector, left and right handed...

Just chewed the small 2-pin plug.

Haven't managed to find a source for a plug, so ordered a new power supply off eBay for a tenner.
 
A proper Nintendo or reputable UK/EU maker's one, I hope, not some knock-off sold direct from China.
 
Sadly the latter.

I was thinking of cutting the lead and connecting the plug to the original power supply with a flex connector. Seems like the better option maybe.

You probably should reserve judgement in relation to even that until you have cut the cable and seen inside - they have been known to have a paucity of copper inside them!
