. when the car starts the blue light comes on in the dash. this take ages to go out and when it does it sometimes comes back on while driving. is this usual for this model as there is no gauge meter on the dash just a blue and a red light?

As per the answer on the other post... out of interest, have you lifted the back seat to see the meccano set that's been left there?

love the sarcasim but used to a gauge with a needle and not just lights. no meccano set under the seat but did find a retro technic lego car... think its a collectors item

I seem to remember (think it was a K12) that under the rear seat squab there was a lot of unpainted metalwork.....no matter.
If you are going to do your own maintenance, have fun getting the air box off to replace the plugs....
