Nissan Micra Heater Puzzle

Heater blower was only working on No.4 setting...so i removed the resistor to examine it and re-solder if need be...whilst resistor was on workbench..i had to pop down the shops on a cold miserable wet night..and as a matter of habit when you get misted up..i switched the heater on to No.4 setting..forgetting that the resistor was out ....and the heater worked...i thought that with the resistor out..it wouldn't work..or should it?????? anyone help ??

Thats ok - the resistor is bypassed when the blower is switched on to full.

Cheers John...thought maybe the wires were tampered with...thanx...although .. the resistor is one awful mess..lt looks like soldering is out of the question....local scrappy or ebay next stop.

Yep, those resistors sure do fry.....quite a lot of current going through them really.
