nissan serena 1.6gx

i bought a serena about a month ago with fsh the guy was sayin timing belt changed 5000 miles ago but its now got a suspected head gasket problem and spoke to two different garages with one saying they do have belt and the other saying its chain does any1 know.secondly i say its suspected the reason is its got water lose but no apparent leak when revved the smoke is more like steam and has some water in the exhaust one garage done a pressure test and the readings came back as 1 was 3bar and the other 3 being 2 bar as not being mechanicaly minded does any1 have any ideas cheers chris
