I have a Valliant gas hot water & central heating unit that looks fairly new. After working the last few months the gas fire is not lighting. It clicks as I request hot water but does not fire. The fault signalling lamp is not on and the reset button doesn't have any effect.

There is electricity to the unit since the main swith is alluminated and I know I have gas to the flat.

The water pressure was high at 2 bars but I found the lever to bleed the system back to 1 bar. It doesn't ignite via requesting hot water or with the central heating thermostat. There is a viewing window to the heater but it is sealed.

You seem a very knowledgable group - is there an obvious step I'm missing? I don't have the manual and Valliant doesn't appear to have a website.

Thanks for your help.

John

There's a website if you spell it right - it's Vaillant!
You need a boiler engineer now - V's are good.

Found the site, thanks.

Guess it is time to call the landlord.

Anyone know a good London engineer?
