My friend has a BIASI Savio Prisma 24SE boiler and the switch that controls the central heating is broken. The switch is a black plastic switch on the front of the boiler that selects '"Off" "Timer Off" or "Timer On" and of course it has broken in the off position. :(

It appears that the switch has become detached from the mechanism inside the boiler - does anyone know if this can just be pushed back or if a new switch is required? Where would we get a new switch from or is it a job for the professionals?

As a temporary measure is it possible to move the mechanism into the "Timer On" position using a screwdriver or something, at least we would have some heat then :(

Any help would be much appreciated!

If it is just the switch that has come off ("in my hands guv") and you are sure that there is nothing else floating around behind the panel then it is quite OK to use a suitable implement to turn the boiler back on. These switches just pull off anyway so when you get a replacement it is just a question of pushing it back on.

However, if you're not sure get some advice.

you can't buy just the switch for the biasi timer you can only buy a complete timer assembly. pretty simple to fit just a little awkward. You can switch it on with a screwdriver though. Look in the slot left where the switch was and you'll see a vertical slot thats where you GENTLY put a small driver and slide it along. Be safe, switch the electricity off to the boiler whilst you do this.

Thanks for your help :D

Just one more question - any idea where we could get a timer from or would we have to go to the manufacturer?
