Hi,

I have a problem with my CH, in that it isn't coming on :)

I've recently replaced an old controllor 3000 with a modern standard Sunvic controller which involved rewiring.

The HW is fine but the CH isnt coming on at all.

I've set the room thermo to max and set the CH on the controller to permanently on. I've also set my 3 port valve to manual open.

Terminal 4 (Call for CH) is 240v (working)
Terminal 5 (Thermo) is 240v (working)
Terminal 7 (HW Offis 80v (strange!?)
Terminal 8 is 60v (strange!?)

Any ideas anyone?

you won't get nothing out of term 8 (orange)
unless term 7(grey) has 230v

Any ideas why term 7 is only 60v? I'm guessing it should be either 230 or 0?

yes
in term 7
one wire will come from stat satisfied
one wire will be from programmer hw off

you get low voltage with hw off at programmer.
try hw on at programmer but satisfied at cylinder stat see what voltage you get.

HW on and Cylinder stat satisfied gives me 240v :)

Sounds like all is ok then? Why no CH then, strange...

what you have just checked is the supply from
hw on at programmer through cyl stat to cyl stat satisfied (grey)
giving 230v

now switch your heating on
this should also give 230v on the orange. does it ?

its your hw off from programmer thats not giving 230v through to the grey.
check the hw off connection at the programmer

When I switched CH on (so now HW and CH) i'm getting 230 on grey and only 60v on orange.

I'll check the connection now

you should have 230v on white.
230v on grey hw satisfied
230v on orange.

I've left it 5 mins and now orange is 230v.

My HW off from the controller is not connected at all. Should it be? I thought I read that it shouldnt be.

Excellent, thanks a lot for your help Seco. It's really appreciated.

I'm going to reconnect now and test.

Yes, CH works without HW on.

It was all due to the HW off wire not being connected to 7
