No cold water coming out of shower! Aqualisa E99 Aquarian

..Thermostatic Shower!

Hi,

Does anyone know what this problem would be - the shower is only giving really hot water and the only way to make it usable, is to turn the water temp down on the boiler!

Hi willster181,

There are a few things you can check:

Make sure that there is a good supply of both hot and cold water getting to the shower (no blockages or restrictions).

Make sure that the hot and cold water supplies are balanced and not mixed supplies i.e. mains hot with gravity cold.

If the shower is on a gravity fed water system, make sure that there are no airlocks and that the hot water temperature is below 65 degrees C.

If all above is checked and is 100% correct, the potential problem could be the thermostatic cartridge. If the bi-metallic coil detaches from the cartridge it does only run very very hot. If this is the case a replacement cartridge would be required. We would need to confirm with you whether you have an E96 or E99 Aquarian.
