Somebody please help. My combi boiler has stopped working ( Apollo Fanfare 15/30) Pilot light is very low and only makes low humming noise, no HW or heating. Any ideas?
check the pressure gauge. most boilers require between 1 -1.5 bar to function correctly. If the pressure is low check for water leak in the system, if none found increase pressure using the filling loop.
If you have the boiler handbook these usually have a trouble shooting section.
brumylad little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Firstly boiler question is very unlikely to have a pressure gauge, Secondly, just because the poster says the boiler is a combi, does not mean it is a combi.
Apollo fanfare is not a combi ,It is approx 15 year old standard fully pumped low water content boiler. Low humming noise from the boiler would indicate a jammed fan which is very common on apollo`s and would stop the boiler going through it`s ignition sequence
namsag , sounds like you know the problem. brumylad thanks for your efforts. namsag, or anybody out there, do you have any idea how much this will cost to repair?
Appolo fans quite dear roughly about £130 i think, but shouldn`t take more than half hour to do providing screws come out of housing ok. Worth fixing as they are a good boiler. Labour price is down to whatever the person charges. bearing in mind only saying it`s the fan by the limited symptons given needs diagnosed properly first.
