I’m having a slightly strange problem with my Baxi 105e combination boiler.

If I turn on the hot water tap in the kitchen the boiler will not kick in and I only get cold water. However, if I then open another tap in the house, the boiler will fire. This usually only happens in the morning, after this time the boiler will behave all day.

Is it a problem with the flow switch or controls? I’ve plumbed in loads of bathrooms and kitchens before, so I have no problem fixing this problem myself (once I know what it is). Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks

Diverter valve or DHW demand switch failed.

Search and you will be able to read all about it.

I find the cause is about 50-50

New diaphragm in the DHW pressure differential valve???

Thanks for all your help so far

PS Do I have to use Baxi spares or are generic parts available?

Baxi diaphragm is cheap as chips any way about £7 retail.

Yes the main diaphragm in the front housing on the DV. Just turn off the cold mains inlet, then remove.

20 min job for even a DIYer ;)

I’ve fixed this problem.

However, about 2weeks on, I get the 30C red light flashing when I turn on the hot water.

The manual tells me this is a flame failure. If the problem is on the gas side of the boiler I’m getting a pro in. I just need to know the likely problem before I ring my plumber.

Also, could anything I've done cause this problem?

Thanks
