No hot water in kitchen tap

Hi
My kitchen hot tap suddendly stopped working, I loosened the valve body and the water began to flow, I have now replaced the valve with a tap head conversion kit but to my dissapointment the flow of hot water is extremely small, any help would be gratefully received.
Its a small 3 bed house with tank in attic and hot water cylinder in hot press, heating is by gas
Getting desperate at this stage what with Christmas and all!

COuld it be an air lock? Usual cure is a blast from the CW main up the washing machine tap supplies - connect hot to cold and give it a burst of 5 seconds. Repeat if no luck.
