NO HOT WATER

Hi

We have a Sime "Friendly" model gas combination boiler.

When heating is not on, there is NO hot water at all, the flame does not respond and there is no "whoosh" noise! With heating on, the water does fluctuate between luke warm and freezing cold, with the occasional burst of hot. Seems gradually over the last few days the situation has worsened.

We had a service in December which reported no faults and have previously experienced difficulty with the pilot light continually going out, but this seems to have been resolved.

Usually a Diverter valve or diaphragm problem. Doesn't fail quite enough to get replaced in a normal service.
Guessing a bit here, but something like £150 to get the whole valve replaced, half that if its only the diaphragm -but it might not be!
