Have just flown in to Heathrow from Shannon. Plane landed, we walked straight to baggage reclaim. no need to show our passports in the UK (obviously we showed them in Shannon). Also no red lane for customs. There was a notification saying that if you needed to declare items, you should (retrospectively) do it online.

First time I have flown since 2019. Is it just limited to certain Irish airports?

When you were checked on to the flight, your documents to travel were checked for validity.
Your baggage may have been x-rayed prior to loading
As Ireland is in the CTA, there's no need to check again on arrival.
If you were smuggling, it would probably be easier to go by road and ferry.

I often almost skip your posts because I think they will contain complete fantasy BS and nonsense about Hogwarts or Lord Of The Rings. Then I realise I have misread your user name, mistaking you for Odds. ;)

I rarely skip your posts, even though I know they will contain racist comments and BS.
Then I realise you're still stuck in the 70's, with its bigotry and disinformation, and I understand the source of your bigotry, you watched too much Till Death us do Part.
You were indoctrinated by a TV comedy series. :ROFLMAO:

That reminds me; i must get my passport renewed...

...those damned Orcs are rioting again.

So many asylum seekers arriving without passports, there isn't much point anymore.
Oh sure. Let's say I'm afghan, and I intend to escape the country in order to flee from persecution.
So the first mistake I make is to apply to the Afghan government for a passport, thereby signalling my intention to flee the country.
Of course I provide them with my address so they can deliver the passport to me when it's ready.
If I do manage to get a passport, if I'm not arrested beforehand, and I do manage to escape, my family suffer the consequences..

Really Vinty, you should put some thought into your comments.
