No sound on Compaq Presario Laptop

As with title, have suddenly lost sound on my laptop!

The button on the laptop is lit showing the sound muted, however the icon on screen shows as the sound is not muted

Have tried everything to no avail! Any advice?

Device manager is not showing any errors.

Try muting 'Headphone Jack Sense' in alsamixer.
