No water coming from hot tap

If i turn the tap on and off for about 30 seconds the water starts to flow, the more i turn it off and on the faster it starts to flow.

I then leave the tap and come back a few hours later and have to do the same thing again... any ideas please?

Sorry about that but i seem to have fixed it anyway. I stripped the tap down and greased all the moving parts (the copper coloured bits inside the tap) and its working fine now.
