Hi, hope you lot can help here, and that this is sufficient info to go on. I have a sealed, pressurised system w. a Potterton Suprima 40

Two months back I had a leaking rad replaced (a friend switched the boiler off, the drained the system down etc). Since then the pressure has dropped below 1bar daily, which I was re-upping using the pressure valve (I've since read that isn't too clever). Then, two weeks back, the gas valve went awol and I had it replaced professionally. The pressure issue was still there, and it sounded as though the boiler/pump was straining to push water through. On Tuesday evening I checked/bled the new rad, but stupidly forgot to switch the boiler off beforehand.

Now, the boiler won't ignite on schedule, and turning up the heating/turning on hot water taps isnt kicking it off. I can re-set it and it lights ok, but there's no water going through. As of now I've switched it off. Any advice on what this issue could be? If I've drawn more air into the system, can I get it out, or have I killed the pump?

Thanks, J

What's the pressure? You probably ned around 0.5bar before the boiler will fire.

I bled the pump, it's now on mid-speed and the boiler is firing up automatically. Where I'm at now is that all the rads are getting heat except one distant from the boiler, but there's no hot water in the tank and the pressure is still dropping to under 1bar within hours of re-pressurising each day. Odd. Any ideas?

Thanks for the advice.
