We need help! We have moved into a rented flat with a very noisey boiler, and it is driving us mad!
The boiler a potterton powermax he, which is very energy efficient so Im told, is terrible when we have the central heating on, however, when we are just having the hot water on its absolutely fine.
At the start when it first clicks on its fine, no noise, and seems to heat the rooms well, however, after a while there is a dull, banging noise, which we can only describe as the sound as "Jaws is approaching a victim!" It then goes mad and sounds like a very loud growling, pounding noise and we have to switch it off.
Can anyone tell me what to do, we have been in touch with the landlord who had someone to service it and he told us that there was no problem with it. The noise didnt come on whilst he was here! Typical. We know that there hasnt been anyone living in the flat for a long time, and we dont think its really ever been used. Its getting cooler and we need warmth! HELP!
