I think I've asked previously for help on this issue, and with kettling having been mention I've run some cleaner and silencer through the system, but am still struggling.
I have a Worcester Bosch 19/24 cbi. About 10 minutes after coming on it starts makes a banging noise - sometimes quite light, sometimes more heavily. HW and CH work fine apart from the noise issue. It never locks out, and there are no fault lights.
With a bit of free time over the weekend, I turned the pump around to reverse the flow direction and see what happened. The good news is that all signs of the noise have stopped, but it's not a long term solution because the radiators get red hot (I assume because the temp sensor is now on the return, not the flow).
Has anyone got any ideas why water flowing through the heat exchanger one way produces a noticeable banging noise, but not the other way?
Thanks,
