noisy boiler when i turn on hot tap the boiler does not lit as quickly as it sould, seems noiseier than normal ,when turn off the hot tap the boiler continues to burn for a while, its a halstead sime combi can anyone help.
It's a bit difficult to help if that's all the information you're going to give. You live with this boiler so a lot more description would be a starting point for someone to work out what the problem might be.
thanks oilman,it a sime halstead trio wall mounted combi gas boiler, when we turn on the hot tap it seems to take longer than normal to ignite, sometimes fails to,when running hot water the boiler is noisy and when i turn the hot tap off the boiler continues to heat the water longer than it should ,i noticed if i turn the cold water on the boiler stops, hope thats more helpful.galty
2) Has it done it from new, or has it started after it's a couple of years old?
3) What is your mains water pressure and flowrate like (try turning on the kitchen cold tap on it's own and seeing how much of a blast it gives)?
4) What is the hot tap pressure and flowrate like (try turning on the kitchen hot tap on it's own and see how much of a blast you get)?
5) Do you have a mixer shower connected directly to the combi hot water (as opposed to a hot water cylinder). If so, what happens when you try to take a shower?
hi, about eight years old ,water pressure on both taps fine ,we got a mixer shower direct to the boiler. fine taking a shower but the boiler noisy, and i have to check its lit before taking one. had a heating engineer put a new motherboard in last october and its been ok till last week.
could be your fan is making the noise or a noisy water pump as for the water taking longer and longer to heat up it might be a diaphram on the dhw side

8 years old Slimey Halstead, bin it and either spend a bit on a decent make or get a cheap one for the same amout as you will probaly spend on your old one.
