Hi

Hoping someone can help and advise please.

We have a Mira Event XS thermostatic power shower and all of a sudden the motor sounded like it was struggling and we had very little water pressure.

I took the front off and checked the filters. Yet running it with the cover off, I can see what looks like a constant spark from the motor. I can’t upload a video here, yet I have linked two on YouTube:

Any idea what is wrong and if a new motor or just a new replacement shower is needed as it is 3 years old now?

That's one of the two carbon brushes on the commutator sparking... May be a sticky brush in the holder. May be worn and replaceable. May be normal. There may be a motor bearing or pump wear that is the cause of the noise/poor flow and replacement of the assembly would cure it?

It all depends on how competent and confident you are in repairing vs installing a new one in place of the old Mira ... and how the costs involved stack up for you.

Thank you @Rodders53 for replying. The brushes look inexpensive to replace I probably could have a crack. Yet I would still be looking at a new motor bearing or pump to cure the noise/poor flow? Thinking do I just buy a new one.
