I have a low level toilet in the bathroom. It's always made a bit of noise immediately after you flush it. Last week I took out the pan to lay some laminate flooring and then replaced it when done. I turned the water off at the mains (no local isolator) and opened the cold kitchen tap in case the mains tap wasn't totally off. Now when I flush, it sounds like the QE2's fog horn going off. The noise is only there for about the first 10 seconds of the flush, then it quietens down.
I did search the forum for an answer but there was nothing conclusive. If it's air in the pipe, how do I shift it?
Not sure if it's important, but just in case, we have a combi in the bathroom too.

Change the ballvalve for a fluidmaster..and fit an isolator too ;)

Fair chance that just changing the washer will cure it. SOmetimes they decide to oscillate when just starting or just finishing the fill.

And the prize for correct diagnosis goes to ChrisR. I daubed Vaseline on the washer in the ball valve. Quiet as a mouse now. If it starts up again, I'll chuck a new washer in there.
At least the little un won't get woken in the middle of the night when it gets flushed now.
Cheers, Chris
