Cant find a more relevant place for the post.
Got Nokia 520 yesterday, Im losing the will to live, It wont connect to web unless on wifi, been on line chatting for 3 sessions wasted over 2hrs, will go to voda shop wed let them sort it.
Cant transfer contact from old nokia, let the shop sort that as well.
Im trying to hear ring tones, select a tone dosnt play, all the other fones I have had you get a sample.?

Sounds like your plan doesn't have data, isn't enabled for data when it should be or your APN settings are wrong on the phone

Voda have sent sim settings, it works on wifi.
I can hear it ring if I call it.
You cant even close an App, as it says it does not use power.

You can't actually close apps on most smartphones, Android and afaik Iphones are the same, they think that they know better than you do when you have or haven't finished with an app and the resource it uses! It's all part of dumbing the world down for the idiots, many software development languages behave the same.

I've just ditched a Nokia Lumia, I love the look but Nokia software is one big PITA. They've gone backwards IMO. You have to load up Zune onto your PC/lappy to access your phones content, you can't even save your contacts onto your SIM, that's fun for when you change to a different phone at some point!

Anyway bit of an anti Nokia rant there, sorry I digress, I don't know the answer to your issues!

Well I got the phone working, but I do not like the windows.
As for not shutting apps, I had the maps on, with a route was good. I didn't complete the route as I was only testing the mapping, now I cant close that route, even switch phone off, turn it on it wants to resume.
Anyway, I have been given some options on other phones & I think I will get Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, running android, reports seem pretty good although its not as fast as the windows (which I don't like).

Has anyone got one of those?

Mu missus has the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini. Bloody nuisance it is. Apps run in the background, unless you turn them off. Got it to connect to my wifi fairly easily, but wished I hadn't. She's downloaded the Facebook app, and all bloody day and night the things whistlin away. Every time someone sends her a text, it whistles,,,,, and every time someone posts anything on Faceache, the bloody thing whistles. Ah've had a wee go on it, and to be honest, I found it quite hard to use. (probably because I only use my phone for calls and texts)

My old Nokia would run apps in the background, but you could turn them off.
We all know the more things you have open on pc the slower it runs.
