Does anyone know if it is possible to get a 15mm compression non return valve designed for low water pressure. I have my machine plumbed in using a Y connector for the hot and cold feed and have non return valves fitted in the copper pipes but the hot water pressure is low and will not open the valve. The pressure is sufficient to enter the W/machine with the valve removed from the piping. If I do not fit the NRvalve the cold water pressure is high enough to force its way up the hot pipe via the Ypiece.

Our machine is plumbed in for cold water only, this avoids the problem.

There is some advantage also, washes better on a rising temperature.

Hi Sandwell, thanks for replying. I should have said that this is a cold water only machine, ZanussiZWF1021W, but because of the stated program time for a 60degree wash of 155 minutes I wanted to shorten this by introducing a mixture of hot &cold water to start the wash. I then turn off the hot tap. The plumbing was already there from previous machine. and plenty of hot water is available. I consider the 155 minutes wash time is excessive. mainly due to the heating of cold to 60 degrees.
