I have4 an issue with my non vented tank . When I run the hot water I get a very loud noise from the around the pressure reduction valve. It happens intermittently. I was told that the water pressure and the expansion tank should be balanced . I've checked the water pressure which is 3.8 bar and the tank is 3 bar.
Any idea

You need to get someone qualified and experienced in to service the UV system. They may be correct, usually the resonance noise @ the Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) is created by a mis match in pressures or the PRV needs serviced or replaced.

It's not something that should be DIY'ed or by someone that doesn't have their UV quals

The plumber is qualified , and the valve has been replaced, but even he doesn't know what the problem is

That I may need a pressure reducing valve on the in coming mains to balance the mains pressure with the expansion tank

No... That your "G3 qualified plumber" (who probably doesn't exist) isn't very good!

An experienced, qualified unvented engineer should be able to sort that out for you one way or another. If they can't or don't know what's going on and say they can't get to the bottom of it then I'm afraid it time to get a a professional in that is experienced and qualified.
