Normal oven OK but fan oven not heating.

Hi. My mother has a Belling 648HM and always uses the main oven with fan. Her last two uses of it resulted in a cold oven and I was all set to order a new element when I discovered that selecting 'non-fan' works fine. There's just the one element in the main oven so I don't understand the problem.

Can anyone suggest A) cause and B) cure? Thank you.

This may take a little more investigation into the operation of the main oven,
So when you use fan assisted on main oven no heat, but when heat only it heats up.
Do the controls indicate a selection of using a combination of bottom or top (or both) elements with or without fan?

Hi PrenticeBoy. I'm sorry, I think I've wasted your time. I always assumed there was just the one element in the main oven but on closer inspection of the Manual I see that the fan oven uses the rear element and the conventional oven uses the 'outer top and base elements'.

Seems I just need a new rear element. Thanks for your interest, though.

Indeed, that is why I thought a little investigation/confirmation of what was being operated was required
