Well ive reached 57 today 
just a few things that stick in my mind....
free milk at school to go with my jam sandwiches I needed them after the 2 mile walk skillfully cutting cardboard to insert into my holey shoes
carrying the washing to the laundry on the way to school then collecting it soaking wet as no tumble dryers
playing traunt one day and nicking a train set from Woolworths
getting my first bike aged 12, sharing a bedroom with 2 brothers
I was thrilled to get a tape recorder one xmas
hitchhiking down the A1 at 14 to london to see my team play at QPR
my one and only spliff in the cinema
getting a slap from a copper for letting my mate ride on my bike handlbars
no holiday memories as we had little money and no car
STOP im boring you all going to play my new Van Morrison cd and attempt to load it on my new ipod
so its happy birthday to me, ive been so lucky ,my parents lived to nearly 80 and I have had 57 pain free years and long may it continue. P M
