My mother in laws patio door has broken beyond repair, she hasn't got a lot of money so can't get in a company and I can fit the new french doors but her existing metal patio door has a wooden frame I can't see a supporting lintel above however there is a metal beam across but doesn't go into the brick if you look from the inside its just sat on top of the wooden frame from the outside I can see a metal lip about 10mm from the brick face that seems to extend into the brick but I'm not sure! Any help or advice would be great. Thanks

I don't know what we are looking at in the photos, and am not clear about the question.

Is there a problem with the wall above the frame?

There is a strip of metal directly on top of the wooden frame but doesn't go into brick just sits on top, is the frame load bearing or can I take the frame out?
