The house is the wrong way up.

That happened to us but not as bad.

We ordered a bathroom window and it came with height and width the wrong way round. I altered the opening to suit.

My guess:

The installer ripped out the old set, went to fit the new and then discovered the order error......

Always always check the new frame size before the rip out, its a bit embarrassing having to explain to the customer DAMHIK
