Hello,

My mate has just had me round his house to check out a cable install for a shower. The electrician will be back when the wall is tiled to connect it up. The CU end looks good to me, but in bathroom hes run 10mm up through the floor under the bath then up behind the door arcatrive (spelling) through to outside the bathroom to the switch, back in, up a bit more, then accross to where the shower will be. Is this in a safe zone? i dont think so, my mate was going to attach the shower screen right where the cable is run! I'll post some pics tomoz at work.

Thanks

4 inch block and plaster. Does the safe zone extend to both sides of the wall only if its a stud wall?

Edit - (522-06-06 part iv) A zone formed on one wall of 100mm thickness or less or partition of 100mm thickness or less extends to the reverse side.

So if its 100mm block and then plaster thickness (x2) i guess the electrician is in trouble then!

I think he was just making it easier for himself and would have got away with it if my mate wasnt going to attach the shower curtain thingy there!

Hes sending me some pics to night to upload
