Hi,

I hope you can help me please. I am replacing extractor fan with timer and PIR (100TM model) to model 441625A (100T) with just the timer. With the old one (the one with orange drawing) 3 wires are connected in the same order Ls,N, L (L at the bottom) and all works fine. It is activated on movement (movement only, pulling a light string without movement in the bathroom does not activate fan), then switches itself off after specific time.
Now I have connected the new one which has the same marking Ls at the top, then N and L. Unfortunately new one works constantly without stopping. At first I thought timer is not working and got replacement. However replacement has the same symptoms. As you notice 3 wires on the right are plugged in the same way however new fan has cable coming out of top left unlike the old one. I have also attached a photo of the inside of the socket which we can use to switch on and off fan manually.
Could you help me to work out if indeed timer is broken on both extractors or simply this type of wiring can't support the timer on a new fan for some reason. I just can't understand why one can switch itself off (old ones) but new ones can't.
Attached diagram is a wiring schematics for the new fan.
Any assistance would be highly appreciated please. Many thanks for your time.

I would guess L and LS are the wrong way around.
But where please? Where it connects with extractor or at the socket? At the extractor connection, I have already tested it by swapping Ls with L and timer was still not working unfortunately.

This photo with circled area is my old extractor fan which is still working. It was already connected like that when I opened. Surprisingly timer function is working fine with that.

Either but obviously at the switch would be easier.

It is a switch; not a socket.

Not that then so maybe the switch is wired incorrectly.

A better picture so that we can see the connections might help.

Not sure if those photos are better. There are 2 N wires on the left (top an bottom) and then L in the middle top and 2 additional lives in top right which is Ls.

Your old fan had to be left switched on all the time so that just the PIR operated it, didn't it?

Your new one is not the same so presumably the wiring needs rearranging.

The new switch pictures are no better; we need to see the terminals and where the wires come from.

In the centre of the fan are two small red DIP-switches. Are they set corectly? (They are currently both set to OFF).

Yes, this is to chose low or high fan speed. Currentl set to high, but this should not impact timer as I did changed it to low and same effect.

Thanks all for help. I called an electrician. There is no switched live supply there! Despite 3 cables coming out...
