Ive got a new lean to roof installed at 12.5 degrees.
With tiles installed it leaves around 40mm between the top of the tile and the underside of 2 windowsills above.

The only two options really are to either run the lead flashing in at correct height and then drop it down and notch it under the 2 windowsills, or to remove the two windows and add in two courses of bricks and replace the windows with new ones.

The current windows are only 6 months old and were replaced before planning permission was granted for the extension.

Its obviously cheaper to notch the flashing, but is this acceptable and would it look ok?

The windows can be replaced but this means cost of new windows, removing the old ones, bricking up 2 courses, removing and replacing sill bottoms and patch up work inside.

Notch it under the windows. There is no need for an upstand beneath a sill as it is sheltered. Does not look the best but ho hum.

However you will have to install this part of the leadwork prior to battening to gain access. We would have fixed this part of the lead prior to fixing the rafters, simply for ease of access. In an ideal world the lead should go under the window and weather up the sides a modest amount.
