Hi got a Merc Citan Van (Kango) its developed a Noticeable Droning noise at about 50mph and disappears below that but increases in pitch slightly past
50mph. It was for a week or so making the same noise but off and on at a steady rhythm now its constant. Any ideas thanks in advance

Thanks John

Ive jacked up each wheel and pulled top and bottom to see if there is any movement (non at all) and spun each wheel round - moving freely, nearside rear is a bit less free a bit scrapey but may just be brakes (hand break was off)
timing belt is due for renual ( would this noise be indicative of a worn belt? if there is such a thing)

Timing belt tensione could be giving a noise, but that would be at engine speed, not road speed.

Get it changed before it breaks, but I don't think it's the nosie you are hearing.

Ask a garage for an opinion

Thanks Mottie, no new roof rack the old one is loud enough lol :) but its not that noise. Drive shaft support bearing that sounds interesting kind of feels central to the vehicle. I will ask my garage to take a look just trying to narrow down the field of "what it could be" and its certainly not going away :(

Normally, if you remove the 'U' bracket (2 x 13mm nuts) that fastens it to the engine block and pull the shaft away from the block, you can spin the bearing and it will be instantly noticeable if it is the culprit.
