You could probably by a degree and this would pass for office work, but if you are learning a trade, then learn the bloody trade, stay up late and do some work .... you can't buy it

Here here, well done Woody, there are too many young people that want qualifictions handed to them on a plate in fact they want it all for nothing, no wonder this country is getting in such a state. By the looks of this one another cowboy is at birth.... I teach engineering and when I started teaching 6 years ago I couldn't believe how little youngsters learnt at school, simple maths cannot be done without the use of a calculator and every time I get a fresh batch of students they never cease to amaze me. They really do not want to put the effort in.

The paper work for NVQ is knowledge that you have and for the performance side of things is only an evidence trail of work that you have carried out and then an assessment is made, so if you have not done the work then no wonder you are having trouble with the paperwork.

TIP: Knowledge is what you have learnt and retained and NOT knowing where you can find the information and Performance is what you can actually do confidently and competently without the help from others then showing proof.

Have to agree Woody. These young un's want everything on a plate.
When I was doing the D32/33 assessors course some years ago, I had one lad who I don't think anyone could assess. He wasn't prepared to put the work in towards his NVQ. His understanding of basic stuff was next to non existent. He couldn't retain knowledge. If you asked him to measure a gap, say in a door frame, 3 times (on different days) he'd give you 3 different answers.
I set him up in the workshop operating the morticer one day. Showed him exactly what to do and left him to it. By the end of the day he'd managed to drill all mortices just right. (we were making a shed load of window frames)
Next day I asked him to carry on. His first question was "How do I do that? I've forgot."
In the end, he failed his NVQ, completely due to his lack of knowledge (or lack of memory)
Pfffftttt
